I took my first Yoga class when I was 14 – and this was the beginning of my Yoga journey! I was so fascinated and so eager to learn more that I already started weekend trainings and was teaching my first classes as a student activity in school at the age of 16! I thought and still think everybody should come to know Yoga!

My official teaching career started 1985 in a fitness studio in Hamburg. Since then, wherever the military placed us I teach Yoga.

I never stopped learning and added training after training, experienced different teacher and styles. I got officially certified as a yoga teacher by the German Professional Association of Yoga teacher in 2006 with 670 training hrs, while I already had attained the teaching certification as a group and private teacher in the Yoga tradition of Krishnamacharya in another continuing education in 2005. The Krishnamacharya Healing Yoga Foundation (khyf) accredited my education as a 1000 hrs yoga teacher in 2008.

Since 2011 I am living in the US where I continued my personal yoga journey by attending workshops with Gary Kraftsow and JJ Gormley-Etchells. I completed a teacher training in Yoga for seniors and just started a teacher training for prenatal Yoga. And to refresh my knowledge I am taking an online anatomy training with Lesley Kaminoff.

Coming to know Krishnamacharya’s Yoga hit home. Suddenly it was so easy to calm down and find that inner peace the yogi masters were talking about. Mastering the postures is not the main point – your breath is the essence, the function is the clou, your mind the main issue.

I am still amazed by what Krishnamacharya’s yoga can do – its individualized approach allows everyone to practice and experience the benefits of Yoga. And that is what I try to facilitate in my classes.
